Department Spotlight: Meet Donaldson’s Financial Management & Accounting Team

This quarter, we shine the spotlight on a group that plays a powerful role behind the scenes: our Financial Management & Accounting (FM&A) team. With eight full-time women powering one of the company’s largest departments, this inspiring team balances precision, adaptability, and collaboration with style and grace.

Over the past year, the FM&A team has experienced significant growth and change, with half the department made up of new team members. Controller Mengtong Zhang, who joined Donaldson last year, noted how this influx brought fresh perspectives. “It hasn’t always been easy,” she said, “but it’s been a really rewarding and positive transformation.” Stepping into her leadership role while simultaneously helping train new teammates during the company’s transition to Yardi accounting software, Zhang saw the change as an opportunity to rethink workflows and increase efficiency.

That spirit of innovation and support is echoed by Director of Accounts Receivable, Aminata Berry. A former Property Manager and Operations lead, Berry found herself drawn into financial work by chance but quickly discovered that she has a talent for building systems that transcend one person. “Leadership is about leaving a lasting impact,” she explained. “I want the people I work with to say, ‘I still use what she taught me.’” She praised the team’s professionalism, adaptability, and shared commitment to working smarter, not just harder.

Veteran team member Janet DiGuiseppe also emphasized the importance of structure and teamwork. With decades of experience in Property Management Accounting, DiGuiseppe brings a steady presence to the department. “Everything I do has a deadline—bank recs, payroll, month-end,” she said. “It’s incredibly satisfying when everything balances out.” Even as longtime colleagues moved on, she noted that the team never lost momentum. “No matter the mix of people, new or seasoned, we always just seem to gel.” Like many others, Janet credited Director of Accounting, Sharon Green, as a key reason why.

Sharon Green’s impact on the team is both deep and wide-reaching. “Sharon is full of knowledge and always willing to help,” said Ratha Sok, Manager of Accounts Payable. “She sets the tone for positivity.” Green herself describes her leadership style simply: “It’s important to me that people feel supported. When someone comes to me with a question or a challenge, I see it as an opportunity to grow stronger together. I don’t always have the answer, but I will help point someone in the right direction.” Having held multiple roles over her tenure at Donaldson, Green has become a cornerstone of the department and a mentor to many.

The team’s commitment to one another is evident at every level. Jing Huang, Accounting Assistant, joined without prior accounting experience, transitioning from her background in teaching. “Everyone has been so kind and patient,” she said. “When I make a mistake, they don’t judge—they show me how to fix it.” Jing also spoke warmly of her friendship with officemate Ratha Sok. “We even celebrate our birthdays together. She invited me and my family to the beach this fall. That means so much.”

Sok, who was recently promoted, appreciates the unique balance her role provides. “I love people,” she said, “but I also love being able to work independently—which makes Accounting a great fit.” She added that Donaldson’s family-oriented culture and team camaraderie make it a place where she feels at home.

Simone Weiss, Treasury Cash Manager, brings a fresh perspective after a career in banking at a local branch. “In this role, I’m managing investor money. There’s a lot at stake, and a lot of responsibility. But there’s also a sense of mission,” she said. Originally from Jamaica, Weiss discovered her love for numbers at a young age while helping her mother run a small business. “It’s about problem-solving, precision, and being part of something bigger.”

CFO Sylviane Nguyen summed it up best: “Anyone can do accounting, but the Donaldson team is what makes the work meaningful.” For Nguyen, this spotlight is about more than just recognizing results. It’s about celebrating the relationships, resilience, and thoughtfulness that make those results possible. “I’m grateful for everyone in our department. Everyone adds a valuable element to our team.”

Senior Vice President of Human Resources Jeanette Stahli agreed, adding, “The FM&A team is a powerful example of what consistent dedication and thoughtful collaboration can achieve. While much of their work happens behind the scenes, the results are felt company wide. We’re proud to honor this exceptional team, not just for the outcomes they deliver, but for the integrity, focus, and care they bring to everything they do.”

Whether managing millions of dollars, onboarding new properties, closing books, or mentoring others, the women of Donaldson’s Financial Management and Accounting team show up every day with professionalism, purpose, and quiet strength. They build systems, solve problems, and support teams across the company, all while raising kids, navigating life changes, learning new platforms, and somehow still looking polished in black and white.

When asked what makes the team special, nearly everyone had the same answer: It’s the people.

And for that, they absolutely deserve the spotlight.
